CASE STUDY
The Google Marketing team came to us needing a visual refresh for their global Media & Entertainment Summit.
Three initial concepts were presented to choose an overall direction for the Google Media & Entertainment Summit.
INITIAL CONCEPTS
The first concept is based off of Google’s new ‘Think With Google’ style in mind. Media and communication icons are used to represent our consumption devices while supporting colored text boxes and sound waves help reinforce the concept of communication.
The second concept is a abstract representation of media and entertainment. Using simple line drawings to invoke the idea of a media screen while basic floating shapes give off the idea of remote control buttons of ‘play', ‘stop’ and ‘record’.
The final concept plays off the abstract nature of the second concept by introducing a halftone and gradient twist to give a different look and feel than the traditional flat Google color palette.
WINNER WINNER
The Google Marketing team chose concept number two as the winning design. After art direction had been selected, the production work for all the requested assets began.
As this was a digital summit this year (due to the pandemic) digital overlays were a high request.
AND OF COURSE, POWERPOINT
What convention, meeting or summit would be complete without a Google Slide or Powerpoint template? None.
SUMMIT SUCCESS
This is what the start of the Google Media & Entertainment Summit 2020 should’ve actually looked like!
Unfortunately due to the pandemic, many in-person meetings, conventions and summits were either postponed, cancelled or moved to a digital sphere. Google’s Media & Entertainment Summit still went on albeit in front of your computer screen.
